Seedlings of Jannah is pleased to collaborate with Jame Masjid Mississauga to provide a unique children's learning experience.

Join us on Sunday, June 18th to learn about the value of sacrifice. It takes much sacrifice to travel and perform the Hajj, as we will see through your study of the history of Hajj travel in the 18th-century Moghul Empire. Through S.T.E.A.M-inspired activities, your child will have the opportunity to design, build and test their own ship to transport courageous Hajjis to the Hejaz. Through our interactive readaloud 'Yan's Hajj: The Journey of a Lifetime,' students will explore the theme of sacrifice as Yan serves his community. Lastly, children will reflect on what sacrifice means in their personal lives while connecting with the story of Prophet Ibrahim ('alayhis salaam).

About the Instructor

This program is designed and taught by an experienced Ontario certified teacher (K-12) of French Immersion and Biology. As the founder of Seedlings of Jannah, the instructor is on a life-long pursuit of knowledge. She is grateful to be a student of multiple accredited institutions of sacred learning. The instructor has taught in various settings from kindergarten to undergraduate studies at the University of Toronto and in the public and Islamic school spheres for over ten years. She is a mother of two young boys and enjoys hiking and gardening with her husband and children.

"Surely he only shall tend the mosques of Allah who has believed in Allah and the Last Day, and kept up the prayer, and brought the Zakat, and is apprehensive of none except Allah; so, it may be that those will be among the rightly-guided."
